The wear layer is a great indicator of quality in engineered boards – the thicker the wear layer, the more times you can re-sand. All of our engineered boards have a wear layer of 3-6mm.

There are four grades of wood: prime, select, nature and rustic grade. Make sure you compare like-for-like in order to get the best value for money. There are significant difference between different grades which could ultimately affect the look of your project.

We offer floors with a minimum 8mm up to 25mm thickness. 20mm engineered floors deliver a quality product that out-perform traditional solid wood floors and last longer than 13mm and 15mm floors. Make sure you compare like-for-like prices to save replacement costs.

Some floors, especially solic wood floors, are not suitable to use with underfloor heating systems. All Ted Todd and Woodworks engineered floors are suitable for installation over underfloor heating. Always consult your underfloor heating guide before installation.

All pre-finished Ted Todd floors are fully finished. Beware of hidden costs of floors requiring additional on-site finishing.

Always check whether the product you are purchasing is FSC certified. Be aware that companies can be FSC certified whilst still selling non-certified products or applying a surcharge for FSC certified products.
