Glamour Reigns

Our secret to staying cosy and glamourous this autumn/winter.

Whether you have a modern new build or a more traditional home, a dark floor can be easily dressed up to look either modern or antique. Because the tone is so neutral, dark brown works with a wide range of fabrics and metals in just about every colour, giving you the freedom to accessorise with furniture as you desire.

Top tip: if you want to create the illusion of a more spacious room, choose light coloured walls or furniture to create a visual contrast.

USING A DARK WOOD FLOOR IN YOUR DESIGN SCHEME

As the weather turns cooler and we start to retreat into our homes, our connection with nature remains through our choices of rich earthy tones, apple spiced aromas and cosy comforts.

Our love for neutrals remains, especially in the rooms where we spend time with those, we are close to.

Warm and earthy cream fabrics and furniture work well paired with burnt umber, dusty beige and brushed gold tones in artwork and accessories, which help to add depth to living spaces. Pairing these colours with a dark brown, Ted Todd fine wood floor can bring an earthy yet sophisticated tone to any interior scheme.

A lightly textured, dark wooden floor is the perfect foundation for introducing muted colour combinations in soft furnishings and wall colour. Remember, layers of texture bring tactility and a distinguished feel, which is especially important in neutral spaces.
