Overlooking the Bruntsfield Links and just a mile outside of Edinburgh, Black Ivy is a stylish neighbourhood bar and boutique hotel, whose belief is ‘local luxury for all’.
Occupying two adjoining Victorian townhouses, the interior of the hotel is luxurious yet creative, and we were chosen to supply flooring for the restaurant and bar areas.
For the restaurant area, which is under a canopy of wisteria, our worn-look, original patina Ostracon panels pair wonderfully with the open fire. The panels are made by hand in our Cheshire workshops, and the variation in tone and unusual pattern are perfect for their surroundings.
The rich, black tones of Ebony herringbone provide a dramatic backdrop to the exposed brickwork, bay windows, and colourful velvet chairs of the bar area. Ebony, from our Woodworks Superwide portfolio, is hand finished by artisans in our Cheshire workshops, and is constructed of sturdy 20mm 2-ply European Oak. Burnished hardwax oil provides the durable finish that was required, whilst keeping the wood’s natural appearance for a flawless appearance.
Both floors were expertly fitted by the Edinburgh Flooring Company.
